Highland Capital Management Supports George W Bush Center Presidentially

The George W Bush Presidential Center located in Dallas Texas has received a most presidential gift from Highland Capital giving their full support to a new public program series entitled “Engage at the Bush Center” aimed at opening up dialog concerning policy issues. This new years gift is not all surprising when you consider that Highland Capital Management is the founding benefactor of The George W Bush Presidential Center. Read more at bloomberg.com.

“Engage at the Bush Center” will be a free event held on February 5, 2018, at 6:30 pm. There will be a host of influential individuals who are well versed in policy and law, including Christopher Scalia who is the son of the late Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Antonin Scalia. The evening will be a wonderful experience for those who love policy issues and hearing the readings of several authors and editors including Jeffery Rosen who is the president and CEO of the National Constitution Center and an expert on James Madison, the first amendment author.

The event will start off with Christopher Scalia reading from his and discussing his book, Scalia Speaks: Reflections on Law, Faith, and Life Well Lived. After Mr. Scalia conversation then there will be a discussion by a panel of experts who will be discussing the difference between today’s media landscape and that of the media landscape when the constitution was written. The panel will also discuss what James Madison would have thought of the media landscape of today’s society. Those experts panelist include Amy Mitchell who is a media researcher and co-author of the Pew Research Center’s annual “State of the News Media” report. Mile Wilson, editor of the Dallas Morning News will also be lending his expertise to the event. Amanda Schnetzer who is the Bush Institute Director of Global Affairs will be the moderator for the evening.

The reason this event is being held by the Bush Center is to continue to engage in important dialog that we all need to be involved in regarding important political issues in the United States at this time.
