David McDonald’s Role and Contribution to the Growth of OSI Group in China, USA, and Europe

OSI Group has branches across the world: Europe, Asia, and America among other places. Even though the firm has a management team that oversees operations in all international offices, the company cannot stand without the input of local management teams. According to the company’s president, Mr. David McDonalds, a local management team gets to understand the market trends within their localities better.

The Role of Local Teams

David McDonalds has been in the food processing and distribution sector for quite a while now. He knows that the Chinese market has entirely different preferences with any other market, say the European market. A client in the USA has a different need and taste from a client in France. With local management teams, OSI Group manages to come up with the exact food product that will sell in that locality.

The business legal formalities differ from one country to another, something David McDonalds understands perfectly well. The taxation systems in these countries also vary. David explained that for the case of OSI Group, the global management team leaves such affairs in the hands of the local management.

How David Has Contributed to the Growth of OSI Group

David’s approach to management has worked perfectly well for OSI Group. By 2013, the firm had already opened 50 facilities in 17 different countries. Its range of products had also diversified to include products, such as pizza, beef patties, sausages, sandwiches, and other protein foods.

In China alone, the firm had managed to take over the food market. Having entered the market over two decades ago, OSI had walked with its Chinese clients every step of their economic growth. According to David McDonalds, the market demands of the 90s are very different today since the country’s economy has grown. In 2012, for example, the firm opened a poultry processing plant in Zhoukou. This was a joint venture between the company and DOOYO Group.

Under the leadership of David McDonalds, OSI Group has improved its technology over the years. Today, the firm uses X-rays to check for the presence of foreign materials in meat. It has also developed a rapport with its agricultural materials’ suppliers to ensure that everything they process is of high quality.
