Polite In Public But A Real Fighter

You don’t often make it all the way up to a Cabinet-level position in the White House without at least some political or military experience. However, this is the case for Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos. She really didn’t have time as an elected official, and she did not serve in the military, but she finds herself as the Secretary of Education for the time being.

It is important to draw up this line of history simply because it points to the fact that Betsy DeVos has always been a fighter. She will fight her way into jobs and into winning arguments and points of conflict with anyone. She is not afraid to call things the way that she sees them, and she is more than happy to take on anyone who tries to call her out on anything. Even though this is the truth, and even though DeVos works for the Trump Administration, it is hard to say that she is like the President in many ways. As it turns out, she is actually quite different from him in some important ways.

One of the ways that she differs from him is in the fact that she is not a loudmouth. She likes to get her work done in private and then have the results spill out onto the public. She prefers to accomplish tasks like this without drawing the spotlight on herself because she believes that she works better without constant attention being paid to her.

While you could take that image in your mind and spin it into something evil, that is not the way that those who know her best view her. They think of her as being more of a character that is hard to pin down exactly. They believe that in reality she is someone who cannot be thought of as just a political figure. She is actually so much more than that. She has her own views on things, but she is extremely polite and caring about the feelings of others.

It was evident that DeVos could put a certain charm on people when she met with LGBT leaders after it was announced internally that the Trump Administration would be reversing course on Obama-era policies that allowed transgender students to use the bathrooms of their choice. Betsy DeVos disagreed with this decision in a lot of ways, but she was nice enough to meet up with people that probably wouldn’t be natural allies of hers to let them know that this was about to happen. She let them know that she did her best to try to fight these changes at the same time.

Little moments like this often pierce through and give us a glimpse behind the curtain as it were. Thus, we can best formulate our opinions about Betsy DeVos only when we take into account all of these complex and often complicated factors all at the same time. Keep that in mind if you think that you have this person all figured out. Odds are, you do not.

George Soros is the Shield Against the Right

Every one of us should be grateful to the founders of the United States of America because they were able to overthrow tyranny and established the world’s first democratic republic. This ideal of the government for the people and by the people has spread to other areas the world, such as Europe. However, there are many other countries out there who desire to become democracies but lack the capabilities to do so. George Soros, the billionaire and philanthropist, has created a nonprofit known as the Open Society Foundations which he uses to help these fledgling democracies.

The Open Society Foundations exists to empower, promote, and support infant democracies in Third World countries. They accomplish their goal by training the leadership to stay accountable to the people who elected them. They also financially backed candidates who strongly believe in liberal leftist ideals and ultimately want power in the hands of the people.

George Soros has also flexed his global might here in the United States of America. He has used his Open Society Foundations to help democracy flourish in this great country. It may sound odd to discuss democracy flourishing in the country that invented the idea, but as we look around us today, we can see that people are beginning to consolidate power into one position. George Soros wants to make sure that never happens.

Through the Open Society Foundations, George Soros began donating heavily to the political landscape in the early 2000’s. It was in 2004 that the record of the highest donation ever was broken by George Soros. During this year, he gave $27 million to the Democratic Party to be used for the John Kerry campaign against President George W. Bush. While John Kerry would go on to lose the election, the leftist message that was spread during that time took root in the hearts of the people and in 2008 things would be different.

In 2008 Senator Barack Obama hit the stage. Nobody but George Soros saw the meteoric rise of Barack Obama in advance. When George Soros saw Barack Obama speak for the first time, he knew that this master of rhetoric would be the next president. Soros would donate $15 million to Obama’s political campaign in order to see an African-American in the White House for the first time. Soros was pleased to see that Obama pass many liberal policies the free people to be equal.

George Soros would see all of the left’s ideals challenged in the year 2016 when Donald Trump would gain the Republican nomination. Soros was glad to see that Hillary Clinton, by far the most qualified candidate running, was able to secure the nomination of the Democrats. When he saw that she was slowing in the polls, he began donating $25 million to the Democratic Party in order to keep them afloat gain her the presidency.

Unfortunately, Donald Trump would win the election. However, George Soros used other nonprofits to stop Trump from implementing policy.

Dick and Betsy DeVos Steering Reform Forward

There is so much wrong with the American public school system, where does one start to address the problems. Maybe one could devise a database for broken policies, open a service center for disheartened teachers, build a drive-through for educational supplements, or maybe erect a trauma triage for an acute lack of education. That would call for reform. The DeVos family yelled the battle cry first; leading the way was Betsy DeVos. The extended DeVos family has always been pioneers in problem solving. They are very active in politics, charitable work, and business ventures. Thus, the greatest feat ahead of them might just be education reform. It goes without saying the DeVos family is actively involved, and support many foundations and programs, to many to list. Similarly, Betsy DeVos focused attention on education is significant. It shows she is wholeheartedly concerned about fixing the school option problem. Betsy is recognized as a principal promoter for the educational-choice movement. Presently, there are over thirty publicly-funded private-choice schools, and the numbers are increasing. Betsy and Dick DeVos points out voucher programs are popping-up all over the country and they are optimistic the trend will continue. Social consciousness is awakening to the fact traditional public schools are not working. Both Dick and Betsy say the educational reform programs like vouchers, tax credits, and education savings accounts will alleviate the ills of traditional public schools. Dick comments that Christian schools are more desirable, has better energy, teacher and students are captivity involved in teaching and learning. Betsy recalls both her and husband Dick, while visiting private schools became increasing committed to offering the same option to a greater percentage of families. Dick DeVos was elected to the State Board of Education in Michigan in 1990. Not to be outdone, Betsy was the underpinning that gave scholarships to low-income families. Hence, parents get a say in their children education.

The educational-choice movement got momentum while Dick and Betsy DeVos were at the helm of the Children First America and the American Education Reform Council; a thrust of energy propelled the reform to new heights. Michigan then embraced the charter-school psychology. After the successes in Michigan, the battle cry for a national push erupted, and now the options for choice are good all over the United States.
